A city shelter for the homeless on Southampton Street was shut down yesterday on account of a gasoline spill. According to the Globe, four hundred guests had to be relocated to other facilities.
The spill too place behind the shelter, when a pump being refilled by a truck overflowed.

The company hoping to redevelop the site of the Suffolk Downs racetrack is trying to speed up review by the state. According to the Globe, H-Y-M Investment Group wants a waiver from the state's environmental review for development projects.
