But, after fierce opposition, the proposal was dropped by the state senate. And developers are putting aside their plans to demolish a vacant wooden church in Roxbury. According to the Globe, the former Saint James African Orthodox Church will be preserved and redeveloped by the the nonprofit, Historic Boston Inc. A Suffolk County was deadlocked yesterday at the trial for an alleged housing scam in Mattapan. Kyle Pam was found not guilty on a charge of forgery.
