Our top story: a lawsuit alleging race and gender bias at the Boston Water and Sewer Commission. According to the Boston Globe, the complaint was filed in Suffolk Superior Court by two former employees currently on disability: a white woman and a black colleague. The City Council has honored some Boston firefighters and a fire alarm operator for an emergency rescue in South Boston. A woman was rescued from the top floor of a house on Mercer Street during a fire on June 26th. A conservation nonprofit's trying to get approval for a new waterfront park in East Boston.
